It's a constitutional monarchy with a bicameral parliament, where there is a universal plebescite a maximum of every five years to elect about 650 MPs. The MPs vote for who shall be Prime Minister (usually the leader of the largest party in the House of Commons), although the PM sometimes comes from the unelected House of Lords. All legislation produced by Parliament is ratified by the incumbent monarch who has the power to reject such legislation, and indeed to dismiss the government, but these powers are presumably not going to be used again.

Well we listen to all the various parties and what they stand for and are going to do.
Then we elect them to run the country for 4 years
[the one with the most MP'S gets to run the country unless there is no clear winner then we would have a coalition of two or more parties.
Anyway. Then they get in power, forget the promises and do whatever they like until we get a chance to Vote them out.
We have stealth taxes coming out of our ears and a race law that is biased against the native population. We let anyone in a give them money while the workers pay more tax to keep them.

In a word: badly
It's run by a prime minister who thinks he's a President but licks an Ape's xxxx who is a President. He also reports to a powerless Queen who is good for tourism. However he ignores the advice of his cabinet and he lies to parliament in order to justify illegal wars.
The majority of people did not vote for him yet he remains in power. He has committed a crime against International law yet he remains unprosecuted and remains in power. Like Bush he is systematically underming laws and freedoms to the detriment of the people - all the while the people can do nothing but pray that he leaves soon.
The political system in the UK stinks
