I decided to try to play some MUD games, and the help menu says nothing about how to get the server details for the mud i'm looking for. I went to www.mudconnecter.com and chose BatMUD as my game, but i can't find the server details so i can put it into my mudclient?? i need help please.

oh... are you really going to use telnet?

it looks so confusing when you play without a client like zmud

i've never actually used mudconnector, but i MUDded for 7 years. i used zmud, which is a client that is a one time payment, for life.

obviously, by the wording in your question, you aren't used to muds.

while most are only text based (like Age of Dragons, where i learned to MUD back in '98) there are a few that are quite visual, like final fantasy mud, which looks just like final fantasy 1, but has integrated skills from other FF games, most notibly, 'final fantasy tactics'

anyway, on to your actual question.

when you are at mudconnector.com, go to teh search link on the left, and at the bottom part, in keyphrase box, type in batmud. in the bottom half of the answers, there will be a showing for batmud, and it will bring you to that page.

in there, it shows -
TMC Ranking: 2
Last Updated: April 25, 2006
Mud Created: April, 1990
Code Base: LP Customized LPC driver.
Site: batmud.bat.org 23 [213.157.69.19]
Admin Email: batmud:AT:bat:DOT:org
Theme: Medieval fantasy
Location: Finland

you can also use the ip (213.157.69.19) instead of the server title (batmud.bat.org) and when it lists a port, the port is 23

following the links from TMC.com, you just need to copy [telnet://batmud.bat.org:23/] without the brackets, and put that in your browser bar. that will automatically connect you to the game if windows has access to the telnet client - assuming you're using windows, that is

on windows XP, i can't figure out how to make the local echo appear, which sucks. local echo allows you to see what you type. however, if you right click the top bar, you will be able to get to properties for other, lesser options

http://www.bat.org/play/

You may need to email the Admins to create an account, sorry I didn't look it up.

Start -> Run -> type in telnet

a command screen will pop up (depending on what version of windows you're using this may differ)

type: o batmud.bat.org 23

server: batmud.bat.org
port: 23
