How come the saved files in an old game cartridge get erased after some time?

Richard J said that electrical impuse drains off. how do i fix it?

The battery losses charge. Just insert the cartridge and play the game for a little bit. Should charge back up after a while.

the battery is dead. u must buy a new game or search someone who can replace the battery
