A coworker of mine has 2 grown children. Last night I saw them out together and started joking around with the coworker's son. Her daughter called and told her what was going on without me knowing about it. Later I decided to call my coworker and joke with her about it. She told me she knows, her daughter already called her 4 times and told her everything and we got a big laugh about it. I noticed while her children were out together, they kept an eye on one other in a protective manner. Do you think she did a good job raising her kids? I do, I want my kids to grow up and be like hers. Am I wrong for feeling that way?

absolutly not, my daughters talk to me about anything and everything. My 16 year old tells her friends that she and I are friends. I'm very proud of the three of ours relationship, I don't worry as much and their friends even like me. I'm not a tattle tell either if they have a personal question. I do tell them to talk to their parents if it is somrthing they should know.

Apparently she has raised her children to watch out for each other and to be aware of everyone. That can be good and bad. The good side is they are there for one another and they must work as a team. The bad side is will they ever trust anyone outside their team, and will they have to call their Mother everytime someone aproaches them? Is that concern on the Mothers part, or just plain nosey? If they are adults shouldn't they have begun already to make life decisions as into who they feel comfortable talking to , without confronting Mommy?

Sounds like these kids are really close and can tell their mother anything without her judging them. It's not wrong to want your kids to do the same thing with you and with one another. Bet this family has alot of laughs together and are close knit.

Your kids are ‘unique’…
Don’t try to mould them into being like someone else.
Love them and raise them as best you can, and that way you won’t be disappointed !!!
