It's called "prophetic dreaming" or premonitions. You can google either one of those phrases and learn more about it.

First things first....You are not alone. There is not a person alive who at doesn't at some time in their life dream about something and then have it happen. I have done it once. I worked with someone who had it happen twice to them. They were freaked...a bit like you. Mine was a small family birth which I predicted the exact date and a physical abnormality that the baby had. But my workmate's was a Swissair airoplane crash. Not surprisingly she did not know what to do with this info and only knew indeed that it was a genuine event when the crash made it onto our tv news here.
.
What I suggest is that you keep a written record of your dreams. Do not take anything for granted. A first step would be searching news avenues or the internet....anywhere you think you can get more info on your dreams subject matter. I would also watch the tv show Medium or Ghost Whisperer to see how these individuals cope. Lastly it would be good if you could talk to someone sympathetic and there are many magazines out there about the very subject matter you are involved with. The magazines can lead you to meeting like minded individuals.
.
Be aware this is a journey you can undertake and it can be as pleasant or as unpleasant depending on your attitude to it.

THIS IS A GIFT.......DO NOT DISRESPECT IT.

What kind of help do you think you need and why?Precognitive dreams happen to many people, including me - I get them all the time.In my experience, I find the reason I have them is often to help me prepare for some kind of emotional experience.Only once or twice was I given information I felt needed to be passed on to another person.Rather than thinking of it as a strange power, veiw it as an normal ability that you have access to.Most people dont cultivate a connection with spirit , and consequently dont notice that they are being given guidance.Very often spirit will direct us toward a path of inquiry that will lead us to greater things.Dont jump to conclusions as to what the greater things may be.Sometimes in order to get our attention, spirit will have us experience something we cannot ignore - like precognitive dreams.Did these dreams start you asking questions?Apparently so.Thats good.Dont panic.Say thank you for the guidance and look for other communications during waking hours too. Most of the time spirit just wants to say "Were here and we love you greatly!"
