Yes ...that is a bad idea, and you should have it changed.

It depends on how much bigger the tire is compared to the other one! You can have a tire that is a wider size (such p-155 compared to a p-185), - which would be same height with other numbers still being the same! However an "80" series tire compared to a "75" tire could be the same width, but different height (circumference)! series .
Unless there is a major difference in height it probably won't affect the alignment so much as it will the handling of the car, - as it will corner differently from one side as opposed to the other!
Another thing to consider, is wether it is on a front-wheel drive (or 4 wheel drive) car. One wheel having a larger circumference tire on it will make one axle turn faster driving in streight line, - which will put extra wear on differential,,- (even though it is in the transmission case on a front drive), - the differential compensates for difference in "axle" revolutions on both sides. Outer wheel truns faster than the inner wheel in a turn!
If it is in front wheel drive, put matching ones in front, and mismatched ones in rear (always keep radials on same side of car),-- will still corner "funny" but won't hurt front end in any way then!

through fact which you mentioned which you have already double-checked the alignment, then attempt checking the administration palms besides. Does the van pull in basic terms while the brakes are utilized? if so, then examine and notice in case you have worn pads or jammed calipers. ultimately if all is okay, examine the toe in/ toe out of the front wheels. maximum probable, your mech has neglected this.

More probably alignment. However you have a very dangerous car, it will tend to spin around if you lock the brakes!

Dude,...I'm sorry but "duh" that had to be said.
Ok, seriously though. Yes, it will screw up the alignment, throw your car out of control easier and wear them out faster. It's really not a safe vehicle. Plus, you might want to check the air pressure. It should be about 32 pounds, depending on the weight. Trust me.
