I doubt if it does as it only lives a day and it's sole purpose is to mate and lay eggs in the lawn. These then hatch into leatherjackets which eat grass roots etc until they metamorphisise into craneflies in August every year.

Crane flies (commonly nick-named daddy-longlegs in the UK) rarely or never eat at all in their final incarnation. They can live for around ten days, but die fairly soon after mating. They are the final winged stage of a creature which lives for around twelve months underground munching on roots and detritus in the soil. The final stage exists only to mate and reproduce. There is some confusion between species on this thread, as in some parts of the UK Harvestmen, leggy creatures related to mites but much larger, are referred to as "daddy-longlegs". Also there is the Cellar Spider, Pholcus, which is another very long-legged beastie and a true spider, which does eat insects and other spiders and is also sometimes called a "daddy-longlegs" spider. Three different creatures with the same nick-name. : )

Nothing, it only lives for 24 hours so has no need of food.
The lavae it grows from eats grass roots.
There is also a spider called "daddy long legs" which is not a crane fly

Apparently there are numerous types of crane fly some don't eat, some are minimal eaters, some feed on nectar etc etc. It believe it depends on which country you are in. UK crane fly are thought to not eat.

Adult crane flies feed on nectar or not at all; most crane fly species live only to mate and die once they become adults

I don't think they eat anything. They are the last stage of a larva and just lay eggs and die. Don't quote me on that!
