My son has put a 350 in his blazer and did not move the motor mounts. He has cut a drive shaft down but it was still a quarter inch too long.
Is there any that will (from a junkyard) or any way to cheat the quarter inch. he says it has to be exactly 4ft ? Cheap is the way.

Changing the motor should not make him need a drive shaft. No matter what motor to or from. Changing the tranny or transfer case would though. A suspension lift would also cause the need of a longer shaft. Find any with the same tranny/t-case set up and it should work. unless the said lift. Add a little lift to the blazer so that it will work. A quarter inch is nothing. This will be the same weather you have a k5 or s series. Oh and if this is an s series has he lowered it to cause the shaft to be to long?

junk yards will have stacks, get your measurement needed and go to the Junkyard,Look Ive always used the drive shaft out of the blazer itself,350/350 automatic right, all you should have to change IS THE MOUNT UNDER THE TRUCK and then I just trun it 180 degrees and flip it over

four wheel or two wheel drive? regardless if it is a fixed or slip yoke going to tranny or transfer case it will slip, unless he has it slid all the way together and it is still to long then there is a problem Get one from a junkyard or shorten the existing one (by a profesional so it will be balanced of course) To get distance measure from center of u joint cap on diff. yoke to the u joint cap center on tranny yoke, if it is a slip yoke measure to back of tranny, to the seal and add four inches.
