I bought some flowers and a take away for the trouble n strife.
She was already eating a take away that my son bought home so
instead of wasting it I gave it to the widow next door.I still gave the wife the flowers but she said I shouldn't of given the woman next door the food as they don't get on..

Was I wrong or did I do the right thing????

Fella. I think that was a blinder. A realy good thing to do. Most other people would have just thrown it away. Or gave it to the dog. If they have one. And you never no. That one good thing may bring you all together. Has you state that you dont get on. Top man. You are a credit to us all.

What have you and your son got to feel guilty about, in my experience men only do things nice when they either want something or are feeling guilty over something.
It was a nice gesture though giving the widow next door the take away provided that you all get on. I don't know why you didn't save it for tomorrow and heated it up in the microwave for her it would have been less painful on your ears, lol.
Better consult your son next time then this problem won't occur again.

What you did shows chivalry and good manners never go out of fashion.

Way I see it you did your good deed for the day.

Your wife may have said the things she did cause she was upset.

Keeping the widow in your thoughts and not wasting the food was good presence of mind on your side.

Women tend to have these tiffs and I'm sure your wife will only grow to respect your deed after she overcomes her ill-feelings for the widow.

Lastly, don't let minor setbacks like this deter you from doing good, just continue to think about the less fortunate and do whatever you can, whenever you can.

You'd bought the take-away for your wife so you should have asked her what she wanted you to do with it. If there was a widower next door and she said: Let me take it to the guy next door, that would have pleased you no end, I'm sure.

it seems your wife eats a lot of take away food and so is probaly very over weight,so i would have let her have the other take away to shut her up for 5 minutes and took the flowers to the widow next door who is probaly gagging for it.and if she is on a widow pension she is mostly likely to be in better shape.

Your wife got the flowers and the lady next door got the food.
It was a thoughtful thing for you to do.

It was kind of you to give the food to your neighbour - nice to be on good terms with next doors... BUT if the wife don't like her then - massive Oops on your behalf.. but then again, she should've told you or you should've known that their was a riff between them two.

So - you were in the wrong. Sorry.

What ever issues your wife has with the lady next door, is her business, you did the right thing! You are very kind and generous, and you deserve they same in return.
