Paul McCartney got the title from a Jamaican friend (it means "life goes on") and drove the rest of the Beatles mad by doing over 100 takes of it. It's on side one of "The Beatles", was never a single for them but Marmalade covered it. Paul accidentally switched the names round in the last verse so it became "Desmond stays at home and does his pretty face"). You can hear the other Beatles making odd comments in the background such as "arm" and "foot".

I'm sure it's English, kind of like 'Let it be' type thing. American's could never do that, but we loved the music.
