My mother still has a built in 8 track player in her house. I dunno if she uses it, but I know she still has 8 tracks for it!

Oh my gosh! You just reminded me of a funny story. When I was in high school, so that was in the 90s, well after the CD player became mainstream, there was this girl who often bragged about this massive stereo system her mom had given her and how she always cranked the tunes in her bderoom and stuff. She just went on and on about it. Well I shared a class with her (she never had any friends, she was kinda odd and not in a nice way) anyway the teacher assigned us as partners on a project. I had to go over to her house to pick up some stuff and - you see where this is going right? - her big, expensive, massive stereo was an 8 TRACK! And she had all this crappy music from groups I'd never even heard of (and even then I was a music coinnesseur) and I just freakin' died laughing. She never spoke to me after that. Can't imagine why not.

I have an 8 track radio with about 24 8 tracks. The stereo is from the 1970's it works but I do not listen to it that often.

I am too young to own them however my fahter still has his in very good condition. its hooked up to some newer speekers in his garage and he still has a few 8 track tapes for it. He uses it whenever he is grilling or working on the cars his bike the house or even mowing. Its the only place he can blast his music my step mother hates loud music

Nope...my old stero died a few years ago, so I threw the 8 tracks away. I'm sure I'll be throwing the casette tapes away some day too.

I have them, don't use them.
Don't have a player for them anymore.
But, I remember when they were the
best thing to have.
