Deat penalty should not be brought back in the UK, hard labour camps should be though or at least a more severe non-pain/death inflicting punishment, however having it just for people convicted of terrorism is stupid. It should be brought back for killing for any reason.
Note: there is no Death Penalty offence on the statute books of the UK.
"The death penalty here in the U.K is still on the Statute Books and can be used for two types of crime (1) Arson in HM docks and (2) Treason."
quote from a user above.
Since the UK signed the International Covention on Human Rights and the applicable EU laws and ratified them, the 2 crimes above are no longer death penalty offences. 1999 i believe was the last year the death penalty could be applied to crime in the UK.

They are not really used nowadays but they are still there, when it comes to Terrorism, the Death Penalty should be used however, this will only increase Kidnaps and hostage taking and so give the terrorists more ammunition.
Personally I think they should just be made to disappear if you know what I mean.

Death by electric chair, lethal injection, hanging or whatever is such a waste of life. For persons who are guaranteed proven to have commited the crime with 100% certainty, they should be carefully tissue matched and left in solitary confinement while a list of suitable recipients is collated for their organs. Once this list has been made and arrangements for the recipients to be booked into hospital and prepared, then the donor should be taken to an operating theatre and put to sleep humanely and his/her organs harvested and distributed. That way, they become unwilling, but useful members of society again

While I do not believe in death penalty, there are people who are not at all human. My uncle was roasted alive. took him several hours to die. the same people who killed himraped a 4 year old girl and the girl's 82 year old great grandmother at the same time. The grandmother died two das later.
The men were government operatives campaigning for Robert Mugabe. They are not human so why treat them as human. You would kill a snake or a hyena if it came into your area, so why not these?

The death penalty left without saying goodbye? No. It's still here.
You are just looking for ol' sparky. He's still here...waiting.
Perhaps a fitting enhancement would be a new treatment for the body AFTER death.
Maybe mandatory cremation and burial inside an authentic pig-skin football....

No they shouldn't receive the death penalty, but not for any good reason simply because you can only kill some one once then it's over they should be made to suffer for each individual they have killed.
And as for baby rapists their bits should be removed with a rusty knife. Stitched back on with no anaesthetic and then removed again and so on.
Sorry I don't have the kindness in me for these people.

Todays' terrorists are tomorrow's freedom fighters.
If you execute a terrorist you will make a martyr out of them. Which is just as bad. I'd lock them up and throw away the key.

it should be brought back but not just for terrorists
all those other serial killers too.
not bothered about it being public as long as they are not allowed to walk this planet again,
i think the more people who qualify for death sentence reduces the label/status of being a martyr.
if "anyone" is allowed to watch it, then that may contribute to martyr status.

yes we should bring back the death penalty for these cowardly bastards who use religion as an excuseto murder innocent people . it should be public and as painfull as possible , i suggest they should be tied to a rope behind a car and dragged down the road at high speed for a few miles .
