The best experience always comes on the job.
You need someone to give you a go, keep applying for the jobs that are of interest in your chosen field.
Even if it's not exactly the position your after, you will have your foot in the door and you can take night classes as well. When that desired position comes up, you will be ready.
My daughter is a PA to a project manager in a large real estate outfit and is learning all the ropes.

The best certification in project management is PMI - get some knowledge of prince 2.
