I was out walking in the country with my 5 year old grandson taking an interest in the wild flowers & floribunda etc ( as you do ) when out of the blue he asked "why is rabbits poo round instead of in a straight line ? " Try as I might I was unable to offer a plausable answer, I decided the answer must be on the net somewhere, but as yet, I have not been able to find it. I am hoping that someone who reads these pages could possible have the answer,
I appeal to you, dont let this young impressionable lad go through life not knowing the answer to this question, as well as thinking his grandad new nothing! Please help .
Thank You

Roxane is correct. It's all in the way the waste passes through the colon and the intestinal tract. Isn't it amazing the questions a child can come up with?! I remember the days that I went for walks with my own grandpa. Cherish these times, they can truly be amazing!

It is the diet of the rabbit that creates little round poo. Deer and cows also have round poo they all eat a lot of grass and plants . Rabbits will pass
a large soft round pellet called a cecaltroph and eat this it is full of
vitamins however not all rabbits will eat this.

if it was in a straight line then it would have to have the "runs" or diarrhea. thats all i can come up with. i guess you could ask that about why our poo is sometimes pebbles etc. its probably what they eat alot of that keeps it consistant.

"The hard waste that bypasses the cecum is moved through the colon in a circular motion and forms perfectly round hard balls."
I found it on this site where there is more on this.
