Economist claim that America has created a war economy since War 2 and removing the revenue from it (manufacturing jobs and Government spending). Face it many countries have lived with terrorism for years and have dealt with it well.

No. The Cold War was completely different. We were fighting against communist development in the areas around the former USSR and China. The spending that occured was for the protection of a free country. The Cold War was largely a silent war with voilence focused in Korea and Vietnam.

The War on Terrorism is the reponse America gives to those stupid enough to do what they did on 9/11. There would have been a much different approach to finding Bin Laden if 9/11 hadn't happened.

I wouldn't say that many countries have handled terrorism well. It shows that terrorist attacks occur wherever, whenever and by whoever. It is not a structured autonomic group that has a chief in command.

I agree on the fact that the US is keen on invading countries that refuse to follow their ideology. The outcome of the Cold War has declared the US a winner and on that status, the US has operated ever since. The effects are noticeable around the globe and will come down on the heads of Americans sooner or later.

The terrorist threat wasn't taken seriously until after 9/11.
But it was building way before the cold war ended.
It was created by the Islamic Fundamentalists, so ask them if they felt shortchanged by the cold war always stealng their limelight.
