I am preparing for tryouts in April for my New Universities' cheer squad..however in my high school our squad never did any kind of stunding, tumbeling or anything close, we basiclly just cheered and did dance routines.
Now I have noticed that almost all universities REQUIRE some level of gymnastics and/or stunting ability..I have none-So i am thinking about taking gymnastics classes...does any one know if its possiable to "learn" basic stunts as an adult (im 21) ..??? please help!!...Thanks : )

Yeah, gymnastics classes are the way to go. They are the safe and effective method.

My first gymnastics class was at age 19 my most recent (see I don't even call it last, because I might take more) was at 27. I had a break between 20 and 25. My most advanced gymnastic stuff that I did was done at 26. This is when I learned somersaults and hand-springs. Yes, you can learn gymnastics as an adult. You won't go to Olympics with it, but you can still do pretty well.

yes, yes, yes.

if you are so inclined, take a gymnastics course for the basics.
you are mainly interested in cartwheels, round-offs and back-handsprings. They can and will also help you with jumps like the stradle (toe touch), herkie and pike.

Go for it!
