Of course there are! There has always been a tradition of the 'Little People' & of the supernatural in Ireland. We also have a long tradition of passing these stories down from generatin to generation. There are many books on Irish folk lore & mythology that make enjoyable reading. Check your local library or bookshops. Did you know that one of Sean Connery's first films (long before he became 007) was 'Darby O'Gill & the Little People')? Sean probably won't want to be reminded of that!!!

Faeries and other magical creatures can only exist where the strength of belief exists. Because Ireland is a celtic land first, I would say there is a good bit of belief there still. I would be very interested in anyone who has seen one there.

It really has to do with the belief in them.
Many rural Irish folk still believe in them.
a good example is earthen wraths they are reminant of old housing. you'll find plenty of them in the country and no one dares go near them because they believe they are inhabited by fairies.

They don't like electricity, so they all went to the islands and a few other places.

At dawn and dusk they play on the road between Erigal and Gortahork, many people have seen them.

Of course there is.... never stop believing in fairies!!!!

I tell my son whenever he loses a tooth, the tooth that he leaves under his pillow for money is taken away by a fairy and placed in flower and then from that tooth hatches a new baby fairy.

Of course, darling. Except most fairies hide behind that damn pot of gold at the end of the rainbow....instead of wearing the rainbow(I know, bad joke! But I can make fun of myself.)

Surely there are!

There are Cornish piskeys where I live - an acquaintance of mine swears she has actually seen one!

Now, do I need a pinch of salt, or is she telling the truth?
