A knight says, "I rode out from my home at 6 in the morning, reached the duke's house at 9 o'clock, and finished my job at 12 noon. When I reached home, I looked at the time and saw that it was 12 noon. Of course my horse can't fly." How can this be?

Credit goes to Ray for first correct answer. setter505's answer, though more detailed, is basically the same. What I had in mind was "the job was to escort the duke to my house" but I likely presented the question badly. So Ray gets the points, once time is over... The rest get 2 points and thanks for participating! =)
