Focus on the benefit and not the process.
Watch the crowd and go the other direction
Be willing to do what others will not.
Believe you can succeed and you will tend to.

Work on you for the person you will become.

I'm able to stay calm under stressful situations. Able to assist others in a time of crisis.
I've been doing this job for 13 years and have enjoyed most of my time in my position. One of these days I will be director, and I know why I've not attained the position (politics).

Strong points help you be successful. You have to cash in on your strong points - in this life, to succeed you have to be outstanding, not just 'normal' (or worse, mediocre).
