"Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus: The Classic Guide to Understanding the Opposite Sex " by John Gray, PhD. He contends that the two genders have differing emotional needs; I've read it, and I think he's right on!

Yes it is true, see a loooong long time ago. There was an alien race on Venus but they were all female. At the same time there was an alien race on Mars but they were all male. They decided to create a planet in between them so that they could reproduce. Therefore the Earth was made. When you die you go to your respective planet.
Thanks for the 2 points and go to Amazon.com and look up Women are from Venus, Men are from Mars

The idea was from the Greeks through the Romans. Venus was the roman name for the greek goddess Aphrodite, goddes of sexuality and love, and most femenine of female deities. The planed Venus being given her Roman name.
Mars was the Roman name for the Greek god Ares, the god of war, and a god who represented strong masculie qualities.
The idea was aplied to a self help book that gained notoriety in the late 90's unitl around 2002. Personally i found the stereotyiong done inthe book to be a bit pedantic and patronizing...but that's just me.

Not to sure on the Mars, but I think it was connected a pagan war god. Venus had some kind of connection with a female goddess, (I think Aphrodite) from the pagan beliefs.

Dr. John Gray
Author of said Titled Book
and believing it would be like believing the old children's rhyme/parody...
"women go to mars to get more candy bars..
men go to Jupiter to get more stupider"
it just means we are different in so many ways....
all about the gender gap.

That's a title or subtitle of a book, but I did not buy it because it looks cute.
It means that no matter how hard each gender tries to understand the other gender, it still ends up like talking to an alien.
Or something to that effect.
It's right, 90%.
