You will have to go to court and ask for the restraining order to be dropped. If you two are seeing each other knowing this and do nothing about it, depending on which state you are in, it can be null-in-voided by doing so. If not, then get the case number and file a partition against the original order intended.

On the other hand, most restraining order are for a mininum of 18 months to a max of 3 years. Check the orders out, it may have ran out, too.

If you were a minor, you must find out if it is a Protective order or a Restraining order. The two documents are totally different things. If it is a restraining order only the person that had it put into place can get it lifted. If it is a Protective order the same thing applies. Only the person that had it put into place can have it rescinded( stopped). That is usally done at the country level of court systems. The restraining order is done at local constable(country) level and usually only enforced by them and not local Police departments. Chk with the local Constables Office and then the County level courts..

You have to go the court house and have it lifted. The point is that you have a retratining order on your boyfriend and and the court order could remain indefinit if you do not lift it. If you want it lifted, go back to the judge and have it lifted otherwise it is still in effect even if you turn 60 years old.

If you've become of age - you can motion to lift the restraining order.

If the restraining order was placed because your boyfriend was charged with stautory rape or some other crime involving you, then you will have to wait until the case is disposed for the restraining order to be lifted.
