13 is not to late to get your period. Believe me, you will hate it when you actually start. Some signs that you might be close are
breast formation and swelling, irritability, excessive sweating, pain in the ovary area, slight swelling of the abdomen, the need for deodorant, and the lower back pain.
You mentioned that you have had a discharge for a year, Have you told your mother or caregiver?
There is one good thing about getting your period later, Statistically the later you start, the younger you are when you stop. Talk to you Mother/ caregiver or the school nurse about your concerns.
Good luck!

There is nothing wrong with you. I know that having your period is some sort of a sign that you are maturing. But please trust and believe that there is noooooooo fun in having your period. Enjoy the freedom while you can and take a easy. When it is you time, it Willl come. But on a personal note I wil say, since you are having signs of a cycle about to come "don't get caught with your pants down' and always have a pad with you so your first memory of your period won't be a embarrassing one.

I got my period when I was in fifth grade.
I didn't have any symptoms until I went to the bathroom one night.
My exact wording was, "Oh crap."
I hid it from my mother for three days. I was in UNBEARABLE pain. Vomiting, headaches, I ached all over, severe cramps..
Trust me. It isn't anything to look forward to! I dread it every month.
Discharge is normal for any age. Your vagina is simply cleaning itself out, however, if it begins to thicken and get heavy... you're pretty close.
I also get EXTREMELY irritable (I'm even on the pill) when I'm close to my period.
Talk to your mother about getting on the pill, too. It will help ease your hormones so you won't be in severe pain, it'll cut down on acne, and moodswings. My doctor has prescribed it to girls who were nine years old.

you may have to see an obgyn. tell them your problems. as far as symptoms go, some ppl are different. i get really sleepy right before i start, have this nagging feeling to clean stuff, crave chocolate, my chest gets sore, back hurts, & get a headache.

Talk to your mom about this or someone who is an older female relative of yours. They can answer your questions better then someone on here.
