Should I delete my website on its previous sub-directory place. I have uploaded it in a new webspace where I have my domain name as well.

Not dangerous at all. Put links on each site to the other site to boost search engine rankings.

No! Its not!!!! Better for you not to delete your old website. IT'S NOT DEGEROUS AT ALL!!!
Now!!!! Take some advice....
You: "What should I do with my old website?"
Me: "Keep it working and post on it that you have a new website so that if someone visit your old website, they will be informed that you have a new one."

Me: "As I had said, Edit your old website and program no it that you have a new one, so anybody who visit your old website, they will be informed that you have a new one. Then after editing the old one, .... leave it. Focus on your new website..
