The news only had a small story on it. I want to know more.

I watch over 25 hours of Nasa TV each week. I watch all the shuttle briefings and ISS briefings. I know the players. The briefing on the space debri is said to be a shim from one of the shuttle bay doors, about the size of a book mark. The object was not luminated and the others that were luminated were not loose bolts. One of the astronauts retrieved the bolts on an EVA(space walk). IN the briefing the shuttle flight commander said by mistake the incident was turned over to the air defense command that tracks all space debri. They know exactly how far away it was and what it was. The answer they gave was absolulely boooogus. The astronauts on other missions say themselves the answer is bogus. It is just another government cover up. I don't know what the objects where but the latest briefing is they no longer show up in orbit.

It' space junk. It was probably something that came loose from lack of bolts. What about those bolts that got away from them during this last assembly? I suppose we'll hear about those on the next trip.

Go to this site for more scuttlebutt on space junk.

The report I saw on tv was that they thought it was bits of debris that came off the shuttle's windshield, that they'd noticed before on the shuttle but are no longer there (which is why they think that's what it was).
