How Many Of you Think EVERY 4 wheeler driver, in order to obtain a drivers license ought to have to ride in a semi for a minimum of 2 weeks to be educated on the way trucks run, turn, stop, ect.... It would be a eye opening experience and I believe there would be alot les STUPID 4 wheeler drivers do the STUPID things they do!!!!

Hell yes! But there are actually 3 choices I would give them...1. The 2 weeks in the passenger seat of a semi....2. Make them get their CDL so that when they do get a ticket for doing something stupid it takes a bigger bite out of their wallet than it would if they had just a regular license. Or #3. Strap them to the grill of the truck for a few hours so they can really get an idea of how stupid the drivers of other cars can be. These people of little cars and trucks think they own the road because they pay $50-$300 p/year for license plates. What they don't know is that each semi out there pays over $10,000 per year for their plates. So technically the semis own the road.

OMG my best friend is a truck driver and he says the same thing that everyone should have to take a CDL class and lean about how semi's operate and just how hard it is for them to stop and get out of the way of people who are acting lik morons on the road . I talk to him on the phone all the time and someone is forever pulling out in front of him or not merging onto the highway right or something stupid like that . I for one have a new respect for truck drivers ever since he has started driving truck. I actually road with him once and it amazed me how stupid some drivers can be when it came to pulling out in front of him and things like that

I'm with ya there, but to be fair I'd substitute the word "ignorant" with "stupid". Ignorant is simply another way of saying uninformed or unaware of. That aside, I'm in FULL heartfelt agreement!!!! Before I became a long-haul driver, I simply had NO IDEA, no concept of what's involved with driving a truck. The geometry of visibility, maneuvering, or physics of inertia. No clue that what the trucker was doing was in response to something happening 1mile down the road, and that he DESPERATELY needed to move this or that way to prepare for something I'd not even seen yet. Or that by paceing alongside the trailer, I was forcing the truck to stay in a lane that was going to connect him with an object like: police car, merging traffic, etc. A 4wheeler is generally totally oblivious to what goes on around him, unless it effects his car directly. A little education would go along way......

i believe everyone should have to get a cdl. when taking my cdl test with hazmat i stopped at railroad crossing [it the law] and had several cars pull around and pass me. it probably wouldnt hurt if people had to take more than 1 driving test in their life. in the state that i live in when renewing your license you take an open book test.

I dunno bout that, but I heard that if you pass a semi, you should wait until you see his windshield in your rearview before changing lanes again.. I'm amazed at how people drive these days, pass on the right, cut in front just to get what? one car length ahead? and then slam on the brakes once they get infront.
Probably talking on a cell phone too.
Drive safe.
