You can set up blocked websites in tools> internet options> privacy>sites....
OR:
Tools> internet options> security>restricted sites> sites...
There is also a content advisor that can be enabled with a password which would probably block most of these websites:
go to Tools> internet options> content> enable....

If you use another browser that doesn't have a tool that allows you to block websites, or if you don't have virus software or a firewall that allows you to block specific websites you can try the following:
Find your hosts file which is usually in C:\Windows(or Winnt)\system32\drivers\etc
Make a copy of it and call it hosts_old (very important step in case you have to recover your original file)
Right click on the original hosts file and select properties.
Unclick the read-only attribute so that you can save the changes
Click okay and then open the original hosts file with notepad
Under where it says
127.0.0.1 localhost
add the entry
127.0.0.1 www.hi5.com
127.0.0.1 www.friendster.com
you can add as many websites as you want
Save the hosts file when you are done adding the entries and close it
Right click on the hosts file and change the attribute property back to read-only
When she tries to access the site, the connection will be refused.
Make sure you don't let her know how you did it or don't let her see you do it. You don't want her messing with your system files.
I had to do this for a couple of sites that I don't want the kids to go on.

there is a way to block certain web sites on your computer. Go to your control panel & into the security option...click on internet options and it should take you to a list of several options, there's a place for trusted sites & untrusted sites. You can add myspace or hi5 to the list and she will not be able to acess those addresses from the computer.
