Well, it could be several possibilities.

1. They never had ANYTHING and now they are earning decent money, and they *feel* they are hot stuff.

2. They have ALWAYS had money, and they cannot sympathize with people less fortunate than themselves.

3. They don't treat the person that is earning less money any different, but that person is jealous and is making things up in his or her mind.

The "pecking order" has been around for 1000s of years, and profits and sages have been advising against treating others badly for the same amount of time.

And having more money tends to puff someone up. Having less money than before can be deflating. Probably shouldn't, but does. It Takes a strong person not to be affected.

And if they are in a supervisory position it can be hard for them to lead and instead their instincts tell them to bully; perhaps because that is what happened to them in the past, or maybe it is happening to them right now.

Also for centuries our language and our culture has our profession define us .. I am a baker, a butcher , a candlestick maker .. instead of saying I AM a person who does carpentry. Some of these jobs have more weight in society than others .. and indeed they DO take more drive and expertise .. "Oh my gosh .. he's a DOCTOR" but it should not give them a licence to treat people badily.

power kick...... in all honesty money is not always the culprit.. i started working at this company. after one year of being there i was promoted three times. i was on my way up the corperate ladder. i had no degree in buisness, but a degree in early childhood. it was a communications company i worked for..so nothing near my field of study. there had been people there ten years or longer, who was making more money then me as I climed the cooperate lader.

Neither of those amounts are a livable wage. The powers that be love it that we worry about stuff like this instead of the raping that they are giving the middle/working class. Rise up.
