First of all I'd advise that you address any issues you have with your body that may make you concerned about inserting anything into your vagina. Socially girls are still taught that their genitals are all sorts of negative things, although you may not think you are affected by it chances are if you have problems with insertion there is some sort of issue there, and until you get to terms with that it is going to make things difficult for you I am afraid.
I would recommend learning more about your body, looking into more body-positive women's work such as work by Inga Muscio, Carol Livoti, Joani Blank or Eve Ensler and explore your body to see that there is nothing to be scared of.

Second of all if concerned about inserting tampons then question is; why do you want to use tampons?

Tampons, in particular commercial tampons such as Tampax or Playtex are actually the most harmful out of over twenty different menstrual options; there are a lot of negatives.
Tampons stop your vagina from cleaning itself, absorb fluids it needs to stay moist, give bacteria a place to multiply at rapid rates kept within your vagina and contain chemicals that can be harmful to your health.
As such tampon use means increased risk of toxic shock syndrome, vaginal infections such as bacterial vaginosis, vaginal splitting, and increased menstrual cramps.

I would advise sticking with pads, try cloth pads like Lunapads or Urban Armour, or organic pads like Natracare. When you are more comfortable with inserting things into your vagina try going for menstrual cups, these are far safer than tampons, as well as easier to use, far more convenient, environmentally friendly, cheap and body-positive.

If you insist on using tampons then I would highly recommend using safer options to commercial tampons such as organic tampons, sponge tampons or homemade tampons.
This is because these are made from natural materials and do not contain chemicals as commercial tampons do, although there are still risks those risks are reduced.

If you have a fear of using them than don't, you will probable eventually get over the fear, but for now just don't use them. I like OB brand tampons, never had a leak issue with them. I talked to my OBGYN about using tampons before I started to use them and that helped a lot. Anything you discuss with your doctor can not be discussed with your parents, if that helps you any.

I have been using Tampons for years. But, just recently switched to Pads. I find now that it adds to a Womens Discomfort if there is a Tampon pushed up there.

I like tampax but, some women hate them. You're really just going to have to try some out. I do know that tampax makes a 'teen box' that has different sizes (smaller sizes too) in the box. I like cardboard applicators because you can flush them but, some women prefer plastic for easier insertion. You can also try OB tampons without applicators.

Get the ones with the applicator and read the instructions - it takes a little practice to get used to tampons, but after a while you won't even think twice about it.

do no longer pass right into a "particular keep" to purchase one. i visit take a stab on the hours of darkness and anticipate that the two you gets grew to become away by making use of the guy on the counter, or some ill previous individuals are going to anticipate you're honest activity and take a examine out to take earnings of you, having considered you in this form of placing. Plus, maximum places have an age restrict on merchandising those issues. As creepy is this is going to sound, you're able to desire to probable walk into the food market and detect a team of things that are in truth the comparable ingredient-- electric powered toothbrushes, decrease back massagers, and curiously, from what i've got heard, that electric powered face air purifier thingy that Neutrogena makes. way safer than doing regrettable issues as a youthful teen or going right into a skeevy grownup keep.

Tampax for Teens. they have Slim fits.

First suggestion: RELAX! If you are too nervous and too tense you are going to have trouble putting it in. Second. Read the directions that come with the box. they are a big help. Third RELAX!! I am so serious about relaxing, it is one of the most important things to od.

Don't worry, a tampon cannot mysteriously dissapear into your body!!

I love the OB tampons as they were developed by a woman gynecologist and are comfortable. Read the instruction pamphlet first, ok?

Try using a pad instead of a tampon. "Stayfree" makes a really good "thin maxi" that is comfy, absorbant, & it's not bulky.
"Tampax" is a good brand for tampons. Try the one for a "regular" flow, their not bad. They have a string so they are easy to remove. (if you are afraid of getting it back out)

The best brands of tampons are any kind of plastic applicator...In my opinion never ever ever try cardboard applicators
