the supermarket, how do you think?
Would you buy ANY product or would you have a look to buy the one that has a "story" behind it ie. the brand that produces "healthy" chocolate and supports FAIR TRADE at the same time?

There is A BIG TRUE, posted here. People has not the time to be consistently idealistic. I'm sure that a lot of them would like to be but they don't have either the time to get informed about everything or choose among the rainbow of information that they receive what is true and what is fake.

Thank you, AquaKittyKat for your answer.
You are giving me the possibility to talk about the criteria in order to choose a "healthy product".
Additives, colours, preservatves and other prohibited substances are listed and can be found in the Consumers Association catalogues or in the site of WWF or Greenpeace. You can print it from there.

When I say "you", it is plural. I know that you -personally- are aware of this and you have some very human aspects.

Before closing the question I will focus your attention on the issue of corporate philosophy. This is talking about the following issues
- Protect and enhance the corporation's high level of ethics and conduct.
- Maintain a strong "people" orientation and demonstrate care for every employee.
- Attract and hold customers and consumers with products and services of consistently superior quality and value.
- Sustain a strong results orientation coupled with a prudent approach to business.
If they are applied correctly, they could be precious principles not just for the sustainable development but also for the respect to every human.

When I go looking for specialty items I know what I want them to taste like and buy the brand that tastes the best. In my experience it has usually been not a brand name item, but one of the lesser known brands that have the best tase. With that, they usually provide some sort of history about themselves and tend to do more for the environment as well. That has just been my experience.

BTW, I do a lot of baking, but here in Tunisia we don't use a lot of ingredients such as unsweetend chocolaate. It is used for some things, but mainly used just by the patisseries. People here don(t eat a lot of chocolatey or sugary treats.

OK...
After reading everyone else's answer, it is apparent they have no idea what
UN-SWEETENED chocolate is...

Here is a refresher course people...
UNSWEETENED chocolate is used in baking cookies, cakes, pies, bread or anything else similar that already has a good
deal of sugar in it...
You are already eating it and have eaten it without knowing it...
I suppose some of you folks have never baked in your kitchen, because it is known in America as a useful staple in baking...
I don't buy it much any more because of my disability as it hurts to stand too long...
It does take a lot of time to bake cookies and cakes and breads and pies with the UNSWEET chocolate...
It takes longer to melt...

However, I have never bought a bag of UNSWEET chocolate at a speciality store...
I have always bought it at the store where I buy my regular groceries, and it can be found on the isle where baking goods are also found...
It is not expensive, but the reason you use it in baking is since it does melt slower, you can bake longer and it doesn't burn up faster...
You never are buying UNSWEETENED chocolate for eating alone or for it's taste...
It is strictly a baking item to add to your baked goods...

I never buy unsweetened chocolate, but if I ever do, I would most likely go to the nearest supermarket. I would definitely get the healthiest selection that does support fair trade.

I don't have time for all that business. If I want unsweetened chocolate (YUK!) then that's what I buy. I don't hold an inquest on it, no more than if I want a packet of cornflakes.

honestly, i don't think people have enough time to be consistently idealistic.

i would look for the healthiest and cheapest. if it was a fair trade product, that would be a bonus.
