Yes! You should become an Australian citizen. Lovely weather, perfect islands and beaches, metropolitan cities with everything you will ever need, a relaxed atmosphere and friendly people.

Welcome to Australia, the best country in the world!!

I am an Australian Citizen and I moved to America 2 years ago. I only moved here because my boyfriend got a well paid job and I followed him. I would give ANYTHING (except my relationship) for us to move back to Australia. The people there are friendly, the government is helpful (usually) and the lifestyle is much less stressful. YES, YES, YES you should become an Australian citizen, Provided you are not racist, lazy, ignorant, or otherwise going to be a problem to the locals.

Try visiting on a Backpacker's VISA before you decide. That way you will be able to work in lots of different places and get to know the locals in each area before deciding.

You need to apply for a residency visa (Permanent Resident, to be precise)

That type of visa, allows you indefinite stay, allowing you multiple exits and entries into Australia.

Once here for 2 years (total time) you can apply for citizenship

A permanent residency visa is just like being a citizen, except you don't have voting priveledges, cannot serve in the military, and cannot hold a political office.

I know all this because I have migrated here 5 years ago from USA. I have citizenship.

If you need to know how to get your perm res visa, email me.

Good Luck

I love living in Australia, but if you haven't even been here before, you should really come for a holiday before jumping straight into citizenship. Good luck, and welcome to Australia
