For me, a dog is better. Because, dog is more faithful than a cat. for example, my dog is a Golden retriever . That dog can help us to do some works. It also can be our friend

You don't have to walk a cat and cats don't bark. In many cities and towns, you must scoop your dog's poop or get fined; if the dog goes to the backyard to poop, it stinks where it pees and poops! You can teach a cat to use the toilet... no cat litter required afterward! It takes a few seconds to sccop your cat's litter box, or 2 minutes to change the litter the litter after it has become soiled every few days but you have to walk a dog twice a day or it will poop/pee in your home.

Cats won't lick or slobber your face when you're affectionate with them or give off odors... cats love attention but also love to sleep most of the day and night. Brush a cat once a day and it is happy for the rest of the day, and it will 'bond' with you. Cats love to snuggle when THEY want to snuggle. Cats won't lick their balls when company comes over, or smell people's crotches or try to hump anyone's leg!

Dogs have masters; cats have servants. Which one do you think is really smarter? Dogs are clumsy; cats are graceful (beauty in motion).

Dogs are always getting in your way, cats are independent until they want your affection. Cats are clean and neat.

If you require security, get a dog and hope it doesn't become a "welcoming committee" for a burglar or home invader.

If you want a PET, get a cat. Litter boxes only stink when the owner is a slob or hasn't gone to a pet shop to buy the toilet-training kit.

If you are a cat person, then it's a cat for you!
If you are a dog person, then it's a dog for you!
Remember these simple words: A cat thinks like this: (what can YOU do for me)! But a dog thinks like this: ( what can ( I ) do for you)! By the way, I am a cat person, I have 30 cats!

Cats because you don't have to wake up at 3 in the morning to walk them. All you have to do with a cat is clean it's litter box everyday give it fresh water and food and a catnip toy and it will be happy. They are also very independent and groom themselves. Dogs on the other hand aren't very clean. You have to give them a bath every like 4 - 6 months. The lick peoples faces and you have to walk them and ridiculous hours of the night.

Cats have a serious attitude problem.
Cats are dangerous to pregnant women. (their poo is)
Cats rip your furniture and drapes to shreds.
Any house with a litter box in it STINKS!
Cats don't play games or do tricks.
Cats don't mind very well.
Cats cannot guard your property.

cats! At least my 4 are better than dogs.....

#1 follows me around like a puppy
#2 sits on my lap sleeps in my (or one of the kids') bed and sleeps like the dead
#3 is my teddy-bear. No matter what he tells you, he's not that scared of people! and He will lead you through the house to whatever spot he decides to flop down for you to pay homage to his presence
#4 is my little hunter (bunny-killer really) She's a snob mostly, but still loves to wake you up to show off her latest triumph.

ALL of them have attitude, but I only have to fill the food-dish every other day, I don't have to hire a "sitter" when I leave town for more than 10 hours, and they meet me at the door when I get home for work.

I love cats and dogs. But if I had to choose it would be a dog everytime. Not just any dog ....a female labrador. I had a white lab who had the most gentle wonderful loving nature. She was a true friend and I loved her for almost 15 years and still love her tho she's gone. But it would certainly be a case of which dog you choose. Some breeds I would not be in tune with.
Cats are so different to dogs. Dogs can be your friend....you are employees to cats. I love my cat but he smooches me to get food. And he snuggles to get warm. He wanders around the neighbourhood and does not rely on me or need me much. I still call him "My litty boy" but I know his love is basically "cupboard" love. But if he were to get sick or is hurt he appreciates me. Dogs are easier to love for me...but it really depends on you. I have both at present. My new dog is a black lab...Meg...she's my Nutty Meg ...a Meg-a-lamaniac. Eats everything and adores apples. Disappears if you take your eyes off her for a second but is great to take for a walk. A bit bouncy for quiet cuddles but she'll simmer down. Dogs need exercise but most cats exercise themselves. TK is my cat and he uses me but I love him. He's a tiger stripe tabby, big but lean and long. Very expressive and cuddly when he wants something. I'm grateful for wonderful pets through the years.

"Dogs are a man's best friend".
Dogs are a better pet by far. They are cuter, smarter, more loving, fun to have around, great family pet, lifetime companion, have a larger breed range etc.
However cats can also posess these qualities, but i'm just biased towards dogs, beacuse i've had dogs all my life and i can't imagine having or loving another animal as much.

dogs are probably more fun than cats. but cats can be fun too. so really depends on what you want. dogs are more active and there needs are more than a cats. more work to a dog and hardly anything for the cat.
