A bus topology is the simplest to wire. IT also is the hardest to troubleshoot. To the posters that said ring. Ring topology is a logical ring. Physically it looks more like a star. There is a MAU in the middle. The simplest to setup is the star and it is the common one out there now. Ring is the most robust but takes alot of wire.

The Star topology will use minimum wires. But if you want reliability and speed transfer rate the you should use the Star and it the one which is used the most. And bus is no listed in the outdated topology. That's all....

It really depends on a lot of different variables. I am guessing you're referring to an Ethernet network. You need to take into consideration the distance limitation of the type of Ethernet you are planning to use.
When running cable, it is best to follow a few simple rules:
Always use more cable than you need.
Leave plenty of slack.
Test every part of a network as you install it. Even if it is brand new, it may have problems that will be difficult to isolate later.
Stay at least 3 feet away from fluorescent light boxes and other sources of electrical interference.
If it is necessary to run cable across the floor, cover the cable with cable protectors.
Label both ends of each cable.
Use cable ties (not tape) to keep cables in the same location together.

yeah got to be a ring setup. Instead of having wire run from each node to the router/hub, you just run wire from one node to the next. Imagine a bicycle wheel. Which has greater length: all the lengths of the spokes added up OR the circumference of the wheel?

Star, cause you only have one wire going to each computer or node. A ring has two, one incoming, one outgoing.
