crackles are also heard when i plug my headphones into the computer. However, plugging the speakers to a separate device like the ipod doesn't elicit any crackles? I'm guessing its something to do with the computer rather than the speakers. Any idea what's wrong? Thanks

Try adjusting the volume controls in your computer, don't set them at maximum. If doesn't correct the problem, your sound card may be of poor quality.

First try a set of headphones. If there's now crackling its your speakers.

Crackling is often caused by dust. Try to blow the dust outa the speakers if they can open

Also blow the dust from all buttons on the speakers.

If you cant get it fixed buy a new pair. More expensive speaker are less likely to have this problem.

Good luck

PS You can buy a can of air at any pc and most stationary type shops

One of three things. The speakers are to close to your PC electrical interferance, speakers not connected of break in wire before the cable separates to two speakers.

Glad to help you.
