Sigh. First, let's address the common myths and rumors that you've been told--
Uncircumsized men have a higher rate of infection of STDs, and transmit them to their sexual partners at a higher rate. This myth is largely unproven, but even if it were true, if you are not your friend's sexual partner (and you aren't), then you have NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT. STD=sexually transmitted disease, it's not like a cold, it doesn't leap off him when he sneazes.

Women who have uncircumsized partners have a slightly higher incidence of cervical cancer. This has yet to be proven to a sufficient standard. Even if it's true, cervical cancer only affects WOMEN, and you are a man, and again, it's a SEXUAL thing, and you aren't having sex with your friend. You don't even have a cervix, and his penis isnt touching it. You have nothing to worry about.

Uncircumsized men are unclean. This myth has been dubunked long before it ever got started. Circumsicion advocates love to tell this lie anyway, to justify thier decisions or their status. Either way, let's assume the foreskin is harder to clean, if your friend is clean he is clean, if he doesn't shower, he isn't clean, whether he's got a foreskin or not. Secondly, foreskin doesn't make him any less clean ANYWHERE except his penis, which you ARENT TOUCHING. What is going to happen, will the dirty penis soak through his clothes and get on your furniture? Not likely. You have nothing to worry about.

Now, a word of advice. I am glad you asked this stupid question here, on Yahoo Answers, instead of utterly embarassing yourself and your friend by bringing this to anyone face to face. I can't imagine you living this down if you had. I don't think you thought this through very well--with your logic, all men and women alike would do a "foreskin check" on all males before interacting with them. Right? That's silly.

Whoever is telling you this baloney--don't rely on them for any information. Only about 80% of american guys are circumcised, because the circumcism rate is down from 90% 20 years ago to only 50% today. Counting all males, birth to old age, in the world only about 20% are circumcised. It is how you came into the world, dumbbutt, and is perfectly normal. If you were to go to most foreign countries, you would look abnormal. You really must be shallow if you would give up a friendship over something someone tells you, whether it is true or not. True friendship is trust and faith in your friend. Guess you would dump him too if he got some serious illness.

There is absolutely no reason to stop hanging out with someone because they are uncircumcized. Men who are not circumcized do not have any more diseases than men who are not. In fact, new medical science is advocating that men NOT be circumcized and that the uncircumcized penis is preferable to a circumcized penis that actually is mutilated. Besides religion or personal preference there is no medical reason a penis should be circumcized. More than half of the world is uncircumcized and you may miss out on some wonderful relationships if you are prejudiced against uncircumcized males. Wherever you received your information, I suggest you don't listen to anymore of their misinformation.

Um first of all what have you heard, because I would like to know what kind of disease you could get from a person who is not circumsized??? What are you hanging out naked?? Well even if you were that is so not possible. Basically being circumsized means that a piece of skin from a males ding a ling is not removed, so its not going to cause you or anyone any harm!!
Really who told you what cause I am so curious about this!

Not to be mean or anything, but that's the most ridiculous reason to stop hanging out with him. If he did have an STD or something, you can't get it unless you touch his penis. But if you heard that uncircumcised guys get more STDs/infections then you pretty much heard wrong.

Statistically there isn't much difference in STD/infection rates between circumcised and uncircumcised guys - in some cases uncircumcised guys will get slight more of certain STDs, and in other cases circumcised guys might get slight more of another kind of STDs. It balances out in the end. Currently there are studies that suggest that circumcision might decrease HIV rates, but also another study says that with proper hygiene, there is very little difference between uncircumcised and circumcised men in HIV contraction (see 2nd link).

A lot of this belief originated from the rumor that the foreskin is dirty, hard to keep clean, etc. In reality it's not. It's really easy to clean and keep clean, easier than brushing one's teeth. And besides, about 80% of the world's male population is uncircumcised and most of them don't seem to have any problems.

If "lots of people" have been telling you such absolute drivel, then you are hanging out with an extremely ignorant group of people. Or else they are having lots of fun pulling your chain and laughing about you behind your back. Uncircumcised is NORMAL. If you were mutilated when you were a baby, you can't help that, but it's really dumb to have any fear of men who remain the way nature intended.

I'm not trying to be a wise-*$$...but are you hanging around his penis? If not, you should be fine. But seriously, the main benefits of being circumcised are: circumcised infants are less likely to contract a urinary tract infection, Circumcised men may also be at lower risk for penile cancer, It's also easier to keep a circumcised penis clean.
Some people do it for religious reasons.
It's not mandatory.
You can read more about it here: http://kidshealth.org/parent/system/surgical/circumcision.html

Are you touching his penis? The only way you could catch something form him was if you had direct contact, his penis to an open sore.

dont worry. If he is clean, you would never even know. If your sleeping with him, just make sure he wears a rubber. and if you sleep with a guy who is not circumsized, make him wear one too.

Yes, I would stop hanging out with him immediately! Contact with such persons should be avoided at all costs. If you are exposed to this person for any period of time, you risk becoming infected. Once you are infected, you are rendered useless. I hope you have not been exposed.
