Once you find a treatment, you need to be patient with it. It can take a few weeks for the treatment (proactive, other creams, etc) to fully do it's job. Drink plenty of water each day. 8 glasses of water a day is good. Keep your face clean. The less oil, the less acne. Never pick at your acne. Try to find out if it's something that you're exposed to that may be triggering more outbreaks. Such as your pillowcase - wash it every other day since your face is in contact with it the entire night. As for scarring, you may have flat, reddish or dark spots. These eventually fade away and are not scars. The deeper or darker they are, the longer they'll take to fade away. It's just a matter of patience.

Break open Vitamin E gel tablets and rub them on the scars. Do this at least once per day. This takes time but after a while they will fade.

1st of all stop touching your face! Our fingernails are the dirtiest things around. As far as the other suggestions are concerned, the other guys are quite right, especially the vitamin E.
