Drink or eat something with high alkalinity to balance out the acid. Milk would work good.

You could always rinse in tepid salt water or suck on some ice. My parents used to drink alittle bit of pepto bismol when they had sore throats. It's used to coat the stomach lining, I guess it works on the throat lining the same way. They used to try to give it to me when I had a sore throat, problem was (and still is), Pepto makes me throw up, even the smell makes me feel nauseous! Halls has some really cool berry flavored lozenges out that do not taste mediciney at all. Try them.

Put peppermint extract or flavoring in a glass with water. Use the water to gargle and rinse out your mouth. Then take something alkaline, but be careful: you've just thrown up, which means your system is unhappy. it might not want to keep milk down, so also search for somethign that's easy to digest.

For fast relief, take a teaspoonful of baking soda followed by a glass of water. Then ask your doctor if he will prescribe Nexium for you. It's true: that little purple pill does wonders!!
