To settle an argument, are they just babies, or what?

A very young monkey is called a baby, a slightly older one is called an infant. The equivalent of an adoelscent is called a juvenile.

I was at a zoo lecture once and they just referred to the babies as infants. They said things like "the largest female's infant is named jessie, and the newest infant is named Jojo."
Don't think I've ever heard them called anything else, like kits or pups, for example.

Formal:- An infant
Informal:- A baby

a baby monkey ,they havent any fancy names ,in zoos they are called infants
