Surely a person can see whats going on in the finance area here. IRS nails these kinds of people all the time, and police get drug dealers the same way. Obviously your childs father does'nt care about his child.

What can you do to substantiate that he is making more money than what he states. You are in a difficult position, but not a hopeless one. Do you know what kind of money he was bringing in when you were having better times? If you have a good attorney, he/she can subpoena records to substantiate his monetary outlays for housing, car payment, insurance etc. The IRS may be interested in knowing if the employer is falsifying payroll documents and a threat to him may bring resluts. Your allowance for child support will be a percentage of his income. You need to ascertain that. It may require asking for time sheets and other pay documents. Remember, he is trying to hide his income from you. Don't let him do it.

BoyB said what I was thinking. If things are as dire as you say they are, report his under the table job.
You'd hope a judge would catch on, but since he's "only" failing to pay child support, your ex is not a priority.
Your best bet would be to report the business, and even help him with his confidence, IF he attempts to actually work legally.
Good Luck with this one. I am sending you my Best Wishes!

Sorry and I really feel your pain. Here is my 2 cents I urge you document the story and present it to the judge when you are in court.Fine out more about his work and try to get more info. Then you can show it to the judge. The judge is very smart and he or she can tell if your ex boyfriend is lying and do not forget to add about his absence not seeing your kid for 4 years. When you are in court I advice you to behave, act polite toward the judge and be civilize to your ex boyfriend. When you ask about the child support I urge you to write the detail and be honest as much as you can,So you will look good and you will get what you are asking for. Good luck.

You have to wait for it to come in the mail. You have to go along with it. You could have avoided this by including him in your application. This only happens if you exclude him from the application and his income does not count towards your household. The fastest way to get it back to you is for him to garnish his wages from his paycheck. Otherwise he will have to send a check to Child support and then they will send a check to you. It will all go away when you two get married. So just cooperate with the state so you can keep insurance. Or reapply with his income included. If he makes too much then you will not qualify when you get married either so you might want to look into a family plan to buy separately.

The healthest thing for you all is to get the hell away from this guy, forget the money, take what the court ordered and move on. I hope you don't burden your children with your resentment, that would not be wise...I raised mine on my own w/o 1 cent from him, who do they respect now? No contest there.

1. Get a better lawyer.
2. Tell him everything you just wrote.
Good luck - I feel really bad for you that you have to put up with this (my mom's ex husband tried the same thing).
