I am wondering if I somehow have my email inadvertantly listed in my system info, or if I can somehow prevent someone from accessing this info.

If you don't enter your email into the website you visit to subscribe to something in their site, it is seldom possible that your email address is obtained by them. First thing you must do is declare all those mails as SPAM so they don't land into your Inbox the next time they send one.

One very plausible reason for your getting emails however is that you have several adwares, malwares, spywares, and even data-miners planted in your system. Some of these send out information when you're online.

1. If you don't have a firewall, get one and install it.
2. If you don't have an anti-virus, get one and install it.
3. If you don't have anti-malwares and antispywares, get at least 2 and install them.
4. Make sure that all of the abovelisted are updated regularly.

Then go offline, go to safe mode and scan for malwares first. Next, scan for viruses. And try reaching those websites without you signed in to Yahoo! and see if you still get those emails.

Fighting Back

Con artists are clever and cunning, constantly hatching new variations on age-old scams. Still, skeptical consumers can spot questionable or unsavory promotions in email offers. Should you receive an email that you think may be fraudulent, forward it to the FTC at spam@uce.gov, hit delete, and smile. You'll be doing your part to help put a scam artist out of work.
