Here's a link with a chemise. My definition is usually a short nightie with spaghetti or halter-like straps.

The babydoll is usually a variant of the chemise. It usually is adorned with ruffles, ribbon or lace. Here is a link with that:

Sometimes a babydoll has a "peek a boo" opening:

As for the babydoll dress. It is a non-lingerie (daywear) item. It could be in the mold of a chemise or a babydoll. Here is one:

Well, first of all a chemise is not really a babydoll, though they are somewhat similar. A chemise is a fancy way of saying a slip. It is sleek, sleeveless, fitting close to the body, usually made of silk or satin, and somewhat resembles lingerie. A babydoll dress is a dress that literally looks like a doll's dress. These are usually only flattering on slim women. A babydoll is usually short (the shorter the better) and has short sleeves. Think Courtney Love circa 1994.

It covers lots of styles, from very short to a long shift, but here's a picture of what I think it is:

And here's a baby doll dress (note their similarity--the chemise is worn under clothes, the baby doll on its own:
