I took an emergency contraception about two weeks ago, and started birth control pills a day after that recommended by my doctor. Right now I am having a very very light period(almost none except for some chunks of blood), I heard that the birth control pill could give you a lighter period, but also it could be a pregnancy symptom... What could it be???

It's most likely caused by the hormones in your birth control and EC. Spotting in pregnancy and spotting because of birth control pills doesn't look any different. It's blood. It's common for women to experience spotting after taking EC or when starting 'the pill'. If you do not have your period during your 'week off' or 'placebo week,' take a pregnancy test and/or see a doctor. Remember it's normal to have your period any time during the week off or to completely miss you period during your first month on the pill. Try to relax.

well usually when you start on a birth contorl pill you can have spotting in between your periods. thechunks of blood dont sound normal. maybe its a misscarriage? Do you knowif you were even pregnant to begin with? Im not sure abotu your situation, all i know is that you usually spot in between periods while starting on the pill cause your body is trying to get used to the intake of hormones. you should go to the doctors as soon as possible to see what the chunks of blood are. How big are they?

Probably minor. Breakthrough bleeding is not uncommon on pills. It can be from missing a pill or two or taking them at different times in the day, but it also occurs for no reason at all. My rule-of-thumb is to change the brand of the pill if it happens 3 cycles in a row.

Better yet see your doctor!

spotting is like you bleed for sometime during the day, then later that day it completely stops. and its like that for about a week and a half, either less or more. on the little pamphlet that should come with your birth control pills it says it may cause spotting. doesn't necessarily mean your pregnant. but i'd get an EPT just to make sure that i wasn't pregnant. spotting can also be a sign of a miscarraige.

if you're pregnant you shouldn't be spotting. Spotting is very light bleeding that goes away.
