I'm a senior in high school and i'm having trouble trying to choose a major. My strengths are in math and weaknesses are in english, i get very good grades too. i was thinking about engineering, mechanical engineering. then after visiting a couple of college engineering programs i kinda realized that most of the people in engineering aren't the kind of people i want to be working with the rest of my life. No offense to anyone but some of the people were just wierd and lacked any kind of social skills. i just have no clue where to go from here
thanks in advance for the help

right now its hard to find your identity so when you go to college you can pick lots of different majors you should go to a college you are comfortable at and love to be in it so yeah you will find your true identity when you finish college or older so yeah well good luck

My sister has been an electrical engineer working with computers for about 30 years and she's very well-liked. No matter what field you go into there are going to be people who are hard to deal with. She complains all the time about people at her job, but she makes a very good living and likes the work.

Follow your strengths and things will work out. In college you'll get your core courses out of the way first, so you'll have time to assess your situation. Good luck to you.

Hey, I'm in Architectural Engineering. Yeah, the engineers can be kinda out there, but most aren't too bad, and you work with a lot of architects who are definitely social people. It's a lot of fun with an emphasis on math and not on English.

I really don't think that you should change your choice of career just because you met some people that you didn't think much of. Whatever job you do, team you play in, social circles you move in, there will always be someone or some people that you don't particularly like. If Engineering is your dream follow it. Become your own boss, and then you won't have to suffer fools lightly as the saying goes.

Dude, if thats what you like go for it. Don't judge a book by its color if you have the brains go for it. Maybe if you get to know some of those people you probably find out that they are not bad after all.
