My sister has been an electrical engineer working with computers for about 30 years and she's very well-liked. No matter what field you go into there are going to be people who are hard to deal with. She complains all the time about people at her job, but she makes a very good living and likes the work.
Follow your strengths and things will work out. In college you'll get your core courses out of the way first, so you'll have time to assess your situation. Good luck to you.

Hey, I'm in Architectural Engineering. Yeah, the engineers can be kinda out there, but most aren't too bad, and you work with a lot of architects who are definitely social people. It's a lot of fun with an emphasis on math and not on English.

I really don't think that you should change your choice of career just because you met some people that you didn't think much of. Whatever job you do, team you play in, social circles you move in, there will always be someone or some people that you don't particularly like. If Engineering is your dream follow it. Become your own boss, and then you won't have to suffer fools lightly as the saying goes.

Dude, if thats what you like go for it. Don't judge a book by its color if you have the brains go for it. Maybe if you get to know some of those people you probably find out that they are not bad after all.
