I am neither Asian or Black but families get upset for many reasons. Asian families, Black families, White families would like for our ancestral line to continue in the same ethnicity. We don't want it mixed. There is still prejudice in the world and we don't want our children and grandchildren to have to suffer thru that.

Well im not sure of ALL asian groups, but I noe that MOST do. I'm not east asian, but i am South asian though, and I know that my family would HATE it if I were to marry a black person. And from my east asian friends, I know their's would too. I guess because the common stereotype of blacks is Compton. Asians like people who can support themselves and have a good persona and no offense to anyone, they think blacks don't. Also, in our Asian community, it's all bout what society thinks of you and society will not think of an asian person as a high class person if they've gotten married to a black
but i guess in some asian families it's ok though.

I find asians to be a very proud people.
Very concerned about the image they put out.
Thats probably why there are more academics than band leaders, proper women and male leardership- but this is the traditional family.
Americanized families tend to look at all that stuff diffrently. If her family is traditional and she is americanised then yes its gonna put the family in a tizzy!

YES, especially with blacks.
For some reason blacks don't go along well in Asian families.
Blacks were labeled as troublemaker, lazy, gangbangers, gang members and unsuccesful lil lad.
However, if you can show yourself as being a good succesful black guy... you might pass!
Asian likes to see good potential in the future or good candidates for their son-in-law (in this case, race doesn't matter as long as you have the bling).
So... show your good side... don't go meeting her parents in gangsta styles...
Man, you'll be disowned right away...

Asians, unlike guilty and apologetic whites, realize that there are innate differences between the races. Miscegenation should not be accepted to any racial group. Sounds like your Asian friend has been watching too much MTV and ignoring the realities of innate behavioral differences between the races.
