She's being silly. It's not very mature but some of us still do stupid stuff like that when we're much older. Saying it every time isn't very funny and she needs to get new material but I wouldn't give her too hard a time about it because you might become her new material.

That is immature, unless she is referring to the German term for boy, which happens to be "booby".
I'm the same age as you, and yes, I've discovered that the majority of boys are immature and stupid.
Sad, but so true.

Well I don't mean to be horrible but seeing how you're both in the 8th grade you're both immature, lol. But your friend calling that boy names is pretty mean, and extremely immature, that poor kid does have feelings that are most likely being hurt by the name calling. If I were you I would tell your friend to grow the hell up and leave other people alone.

Yes it is immature. But hey...even those of us in college can be a little immature SOMEtimes...ANY WAY
Here's the real deal...it is only if he doesn't like it...
Talk to him privatly, ask him what he feels about that nickname. If he likes it then by all means, go ahead. If he doesn't like it then ask what he would like for you to call him.
Some folks don't mind SOME people calling them a certain nickname...while they do mind if someone else calls them that same name. It's really up to that person.

As long as he don't mind still being called bobby there is nothing to be worried about. If he said I don't like been called that I rather been called bob then you should respect him and call him that. Its like calling a full grown man Johnny

If it is a family nickname, that is one thing. But if a fellow eighth grader or peer is calling him that, it could have repercussions for the kid. I used to teach eighth grade and I know kids can be brutal, hurting one another. I say get rid of the nickname.
