is it true he died or is it just to let us think he died so we let down our guard?

If bush would have finished the job in Afghanistan instead of going after oil...ummm....giving "freedom" to Iraq, we would know for sure.

I believe this may be misinformation planted by our government (I know the original document came from a French Op). Anyway, If he isn't dead, there is a strong chance and audio or video of him will appear. This can help substantiate where he may be. For example, if it takes three weeks, he may be up north near the chinese border. If it is this week, it would probably confirm that he is in the northern Pakistan area, along the border. Not to metion any other intel gathered from the tape.
It may also be a test of the Pakistani government. Remember three recent headlines. One was that Pakistan agreed not to attack some of the northern "no man's lands" in exchange for Bin Laden's promise not to attack again. Pakistan quickly said the general who made that offer was "mistaken" or misquoted. Number Two, Pakistan surprised Bush when they stated this week they were told Bush had considered bombing them early on for 9/11. And finally, Bush has said recently that he would send troops to Pakistan if he could.
One thing is CERTAIN. A tape or video will be released within a month at the most. Either confirming or denying this report.

For all we know, he could've died a long time ago. Occassionally the faces of these extremist organizations change. For the most part, their work remains uninterrupted, however.
Like others here, I will believe he died when someone produces his body. If Dog the Bounty Hunter gets his current mess straightened out, I understand he is willing to go after Bin Laden, if granted permission and the appropriate clearances. I say sic em, Dog.

As far as anyone knows he is alive. However I suspect he is dead from the bombing and the films of him are fixed from pre recordings. I have seen several (on tv) recordings of him on the same mountain side which by now the USA military would know by heart, and cannot believe he is hiding there. I think he is in Saudi Arabia where all of the money is. It would take billions to finance his operations and there is no way it could escape the attentions of the military or intelligence were all of those supplies being brought in by individual cars, trucks, and donkeys. It would take huge transports to deliver such supplies to keep thousands of men fighting daily. It has to be delivered via pakistan from wealthy Islamic nations.

He has been a CIA operative since the middle 1980's. I think he is not only alive, but being protected.
Like Sitara said above, it is an election year. I wouldn't be suprised if those in power are going to do another terrorist thing so the current regime can stay in power. They plan to use terrorism to get votes for this election since people are so unenamored with them for taking away our rights.

They have not confirmed whether he is dead for sure and whether he is or not, no we do not let our guard down. There are another thousand or more just like him waiting to get thier chance for glory and the 72 virgins in paradise and all that nonsense. It may be a ruse, but do not be decieved -- its not over.

He lives in a cave in fear of us finding him, anything could be possible at this time, i think he is dead because he was on his way out not long after 9-11

Don't know for sure but, if it is true that he has contracted typhoid from tainted water than it may stand to reason that all of the men around him contracted it too!

They don't have an official answer yet. If he is dead, it will mean nothing. Extremists will still kill, will still hate and will still carry on as they were before. His death will not stop the hate that extremists carry.
He is not the beginning and ending of terrorism, just one of the wackos.
