That is possible, the company that used to make the sony rumble controllers already stated that it was possible with the PS3. The only thing is, is that if PS3 games aren't made to use the rumble feature, the controller wont rumble. Same thing goes with old PSX games, they wont rumble because they weren't made to.

Possible? Probably. However, games have to send signals to the rumble mechanism for it to work, and if the official PS3 controller spec doesn't support rumble then games won't support it either. It'd be a wasted feature, so it's very unlikely that any third party will develop a rumbling controller for PS3.

Don't buy into the excuse that rumble screws with motion sensing. Nintendo's WiiMote has both with out any issue. Sony dropped rumble due to losing a patent lawsuit. Microsoft and Nintendo settled or obtained permission to use the technology legally. Sony's just trying to spin it so it sounds like it was their own decision to drop the rumble feature.

Not if they want it to have full functinality. With the acelerometer in the ps3 controller, the rumble pak wont work. It would interfere. SOrry, no rumble.
