i have a 727 tranny on the column and want to put it on the floor. do i have to change the valve body out or something to be able to shift manually and still be able to use the automatic or is it already set up to do that?

The linkage on the exterior of the trans is all you need to connect to, everything is done internally. You don't have to change anything inside the trans, all you need to do is allow the floor shift to select the position of the gear changer lever,
P-R-N-D-2-1.

That is a three speed trans and it will not shift higher than the number you put the selector in. Put it in 2 and it will start out in 1, shift to 2 and stay there. You can put it in 1 and it will stay there no matter how high the engine revs so you could blow an engine. Be careful.

That is a very rugged trans and should serve you well with just the basic maintenance.

No, you don't need to make any internal changes - it is already set up so that you can select one of the lower gears if you want. You'll just need a suitable floor shifter; there are a lot of aftermarket ones on the market such as those made by B&M or Lokar.

No, you do not desire to make any inner ameliorations - that's already set up so that you'll be able to decide on between the decrease gears in case you decide on. you'll merely want a suitable floor shifter; there are distinct aftermarket ones on the marketplace such as those made by making use of B&M or Lokar.

Just remove the column shifter and linkage. Install an aftermarket floor shifter.

I think to pull the linkage swap smoothly, maybe from console shift of another "B" body car
