I have only had c-sections (4 of them), and my first was breech. The doctor said I could do a "version" which means to turn the baby manually by manipulating on the outside of your stomach. Don't do that because that could wrap the baby's cord around his/her neck. If the baby does not turn before the due date, go with a c-section. Yes, it hurts like h***, but you don't want to endanger your child or you for that matter. If you have a c-section, my advice is get up and move around right away...the more you lay there the stiffer you get and the more it does hurt when you do move around. It may not hurt as bad for you...my niece had a c-section (she's skinny) and she had hardly any pain. Also, remember...if you are going to sneeze or cough....take a pillow and put it where your incision is to brace yourself. Children are so worth the pain, so either way, you forget about it (until the next one...LOL). I'd have a 5th child if I could, but after having 3 in 3 years I needed a hysterectomy...poor uterus was worn out! :) My sister had one of each kind of birth and said she would have the c-section over labor any day!

I ended up having an emergency c-section. My son was breech and I was already being prepped for the c-section when his heart stopped and they had to knock me out. Trying to vaginally deliver a breech baby can endanger their life.

My daughter was born vaginally without complications. I had an episotomy(sp?) with her and I didn't feel a thing. They use a local anesthetic to numb the area before they cut. Of course the stitches aren't the most comfortable thing for the first couple of days, but it's not too bad. I was able to walk around. The only thing that takes some getting used to is going to the restroom because it's not easy to wipe.

I'll tell you I had 2 c-sections and with my second one they tried to induce labor to no avail, I begged them to put me to sleep and give me the c-section the labor pains were unbearable. In the long run the natural birth because with the cs you will take longer to heal. Let's pray the baby turns itself around before then. God Bless

For me, the c-section was more painful (after the fact). Then again, I had more problems after my c-section than what is normal. I think if I had not had the extra problems, it wouldn't have been so bad.
