Has anyone else seen the Northern Lights in the city?

Im in Calgary, Alberta. I'm from L.A. and this is new for me!

Well I used to live in Grand Rapids and have seen them there numerous times. The farther north you go the better you can see them...regardless of the location!! Enjoy!

Seeing the northern lights from Calgary is nothing unusual at all. Seeing them from LA would be newsworthy.

When I lived in Anchorage, Alaska, I would see the Northern Lights occasionally. The city lights would usually drown them out, but when they were especially bright, you could see them. A bit out of the city, in Eagle River, you could nearly always see them clearly, and in Homer, when the Northern Lights were out, you could see them so clearly that it was almost unbelieveable.

Northern Lights= aurora borealis....can be seen in the North part of the Northern hemisphere....like in Norway, Iceland etc....

I doubt it. You can't see the Northern Lights with all of the city lights. You were probably just seeing clouds.

I saw them when I was up in Fairbanks Ak.
I spent two years on Adak but thats out in the Aleutians.
And didn't see them in Kodiak either ...but that place is kinda south.
They are nice to watch.
you can hear them.

Depends on what city you live in I suspect. You should feel lucky to have sen them. Where I live I am lucky to see them now & again. I know they are suppose to be at their brightest during the winter....
But I don't live in a city.....

Wish I could see stuff like that, but you can't see anything through the L.A smog!
