Probably before that. Massacred thousands of Native Americans right from the start, so I'd say that was it.

The 60's we have gone down hill ever sense . The Space program went to **** in the 70's . We should have colonized the Moon by the 90's and starting to colonize Mars by now . I cant spank my kids but I got my fair share of whippings and I dont and never had the problems my kids have . Now people have more money I have my share , but i have seen high school kids cry , runaway , and attempt to kill them selves just so Mommy and Daddy will buy them a new car and not just any car I mean BMW . I am Old School , I told Both of my kids If you cut yourself like that to get attention I would let them Bleed for a while before I call 911 so they can think about what they have done , and how really Stupid they are .

Innocence can still be seen in America, it is around the corner to every hopeful, every dreamer, and the ability to integrate, learn and expand love, I am an American and I represent innocence and will do my best to pass it on, America has made some good decisions and some bad ones, in fact the whole ideal surrounding America is that we live, we learn, and we change!! Let us change for the better. It starts with you! and Me! and leading up to them! big hugs

When Bill Clinton was in the White House fooling around with Monica Lewinski , and telling lies to America on camera , saying " I did not have sex with that woman " ; and what followed , is that the entire world-along with America - had to hear the whole sordid affair . A President of the United States , yet .

You know, I'm not so sure we ever had any real innocence. The first people to come here were vikings. Then came Columbus. Finally, the Pilgrims, who came here because they were angry.
Perhaps the most innocent time was when it was just the Native Americans here...but, who knows?

I do not believe there is a correct answer to this question as it is a matter of perspective. It is based upon the person asking it. For myself, it would be not defending our own in time of war whether abroad or on our own turf or turning our backs on veterans whom have sacrificed their lives for other. This would be warriors on our own soil such as public safety officers or military abroad.

America was born out of war and has been involved in one war or another since the beginning of its history...
Each generation gets its own new war...
Some generations rise to the occasion..
Some falter...
We faltered in Vietnam...
We are wavering in Iraq...
